Falcon Update
The peregrine falcons at QMAG’s Parkhurst processing facility are breeding again after an unfortunate setback in September.
Breeding in the wild is never a guarantee and is fraught with danger and it appears that the eggs which hatched in September were predated. The good news is Electra has laid again and we are eagerly awaiting hatching of her three eggs.
Meanwhile Falco is standing guard nearby in the perfect vantage point atop one of our multi-hearth furnaces, much to worker’s delight. As a good partner he also appears to be bringing her food packages. Fingers crossed for their breeding success which we’ll keep you posted on.
