EMAG45 shipment to Indonesia

Queensland Magnesia has successfully completed loading and dispatched a 5,000-ton bulk shipment of EMAG45 High Grade CCM in one-metric-ton bags to an Indonesian customer, departing from the Port of Brisbane.

This is a significant achievement for QMAG - and one we are genuinely proud of. A shipment of this scale reflects the growing confidence that international hydrometallurgical operators are placing in Australian-sourced caustic calcined magnesia, and in QMAG’s ability to deliver at volume.

EMAG45 is QMAG’s highest-reactive CCM, purpose-engineered for precision metals recovery applications including nickel, cobalt, rare earths and zinc. Expanding our footprint into Indonesia at this scale is a strong signal of where this market is heading - and where QMAG is positioned within it.

We would like to acknowledge the outstanding contribution of our colleague Mark Christmas, the QMAG logistics team, DP World and all others involved, whose dedication over the weekend ensured this major shipment was executed seamlessly and on schedule.

It is enormously satisfying to see 5,000 tons of Queensland-made product on the water, heading to customers who depend on its performance. We look forward to a strong and growing partnership with our Indonesian customers and to building on this momentum across the Asia-Pacific region.

From our Ore to Your Door - Episode 8 - In Pit Screening

QMAG currently mines 4 million tonnes of ore per year, from six to eight different pits.

We choose pits based on their magnesite content and contaminant concentrations. There are always at least two pits mined simultaneously to provide the Parkhurst plant with enough material at suitable quality to support our full suite of products.
