QMAG is one of the world's largest producers of deadburned, electrofused and calcined magnesia for the global refractory and chemical markets. QMAG also produces and markets a range of magnesite products.
The major activities of the business are:
- Mining, pre-concentration and beneficiation of magnesite at Kunwarara, 70km north of Rockhampton in Central Queensland.
- Transport of beneficiated magnesite to the Parkhurst plant in Rockhampton, and to Gladstone for bulk shipment.
- Production of a range of high grade calcined, dead burned, and electrofused magnesia products.
- Marketing and distribution of a broad product range to global customers utilising a wide range of packaging, storage and transport modes.
